WHAT WE'RE ABOUT

There are thousands of people who blog or twitter nearly every day, sometimes multiple times per day, about illness, health, diseases and conditions, chronic pain. mental illness, mental health and more. If you twitter about one of these topics, let's connect and help each other in sharing our resources, retweeting, and making a difference for the causes we believe in.

We represent:
* Patients who have any illness or disease
* Professionals in the health care industry
* Anyone who has a business or organization that serves those with illness or pain

We welcome anyone who has ethical intentions to network, share resources, help one another out (from introductions to retweets), etc.

________________________WHY JOIN?_______________________
* Find interesting health and illness related resources that you can tweet about.
* Connect with other illness tweeters who have magazines, podcasts, guest bloggers, Facebook groups, advertising opportunities.
* Share your opportunities w/ others who have the same passion and get some wonderful contributors!
_________________________________________________________

We do not approve members or groups that:
* Post anything that resembles spam, such as diet pills, pyramid schemes, etc. These posts and memberships will be immediately banned without notice. (We don't like to have to clarify all that, but it's necessary).
* Promote anything new-age, hypnosis, or quackery, etc. If you have a question about your membership you can email us at lisa@invisibleillness.com

So... post your profile and consider starting a group for your illness, awareness cause, whatever you believe in that others will find beneficial.

THINKING OF STARTING A GROUP?
Please consider… (1) your group should be one that people in the media would be interested in contacting because all of those illness Twitter-ers would have that in common. (2) It shouldn’t really be a “support” group. If you are looking for encouragement and bonding, we recommend our sister-site, restministriessunroom.com . (3) Although you don’t have to be involved daily, we’d like group leaders to be involved in keeping postings organized, people involved, and that you will kick start some discussions with helpful postings, etc.

GROUP IDEAS
We'd love to see some of these groups:
* Your illness-related group
* Fun things to re-tweet
* Bloggers on health/illness topics
* Participants of blog carnival
* Events illness twitters should know about
* Moms/Dads who twitter
* Patients, doctors, counselors, coaches, nurses, whatever your profession
* Facebook users
* Parents of kids with illness
* Authors of books on illness
* Speakers who speak on illness
* Christian Illness Twitters
* Health and medical journalists
* Ill and running a biz
* Social marketing and the healthcare world
... and any other ideas you may have! This is just the start.
